Shropshire Santa Run (5k) - Oswestry, 6 December 2026
The Shropshire Santa Run is a festive 5 kilometre running event in Oswestry held on Sunday 6 December 2026. The event is open to participants aged 11 years and above and takes place around the town centre with the race headquarters at the Memorial Hall, SY11 2EG. The route is recorded at about 5.1 km.
Each participant receives a five-piece Santa suit and a Christmas-themed finisher medal. Santa suits may be collected in advance at The Lounge on Cross Street on Wednesday 2 December (11:30–14:00), Thursday 3 December (17:00–20:00) and Friday 4 December (11:30–14:00), or at Race HQ on the morning of the event.
Roads on the course are fully closed for the safety of runners and volunteers. A race cut-off time of 70 minutes is in place, and roads will re-open in line with that pace. The race village and finish area are described as being close to local car parks, shops, cafes and a park. A silver band will play Christmas music and there will be music and flags at the start and finish area, with a help desk at Race HQ.
Parking is available at Bailey Head car park SY11 1PZ and Salop Road Central Car Park SY11 2NR. Local residents are provided with information about short road closures and advised about movements during closures. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
