Event Details
The Shropshire Santa Run is a festive 5k running event. It is described as Shropshire's largest Santa Run. The event takes place in Oswestry. The date for the next edition is Sunday, 6 December 2026.
Course and Route
The course uses the streets of Oswestry. The roads will be fully closed for safety. The total race cut-off time is 70 minutes. A route map is available on Strava.
Participant Information
Entry is open to runners aged 11 years and older. Each participant will be issued with a five-piece Santa suit, which must be collected before or on the day. Upon finishing, participants receive a Christmas-themed finisher's medal. Numbers and Santa suits can be collected on race day at the Memorial Hall.
Race Day Logistics
The race starts and finishes at the Memorial Hall on Church Street. A warm-up is scheduled before the race start. Parking is advised at Bailey Head car park (SY11 1PZ) or Salop Road Central Car Park (SY11 2NR). Local residents are advised to park on the outskirts of town and walk in. Spectators are encouraged to watch from Church Street or other areas with good pavement coverage, staying off the course until runners have passed.
