Event overview
The Shropshire Santa Run is a festive 5 kilometre running event held in Oswestry on Sunday 7 December 2025. The event is open to participants aged 11 years and over. The course is on fully closed roads and the organiser applies a race cut-off time of 70 minutes. Each entry includes a five-piece Santa suit, a Christmas themed finisher medal and a winter buff (stated value £10). The race village will include music, flags and a help desk at Race HQ.
Venue and logistics
Race HQ, start and finish are at Smithfield Street, Oswestry, SY11 2EG, within walking distance of town centre car parks and local shops and cafes. Parking options include Bailey Head car park (SY11 1PZ) and Salop Road Central Car Park (SY11 2NR); local residents are asked to move vehicles ahead of road closures. Runners can collect their race number and Santa suit at the memorial hall on the morning of the event. Spectators are advised to watch from pavements, with recommended viewing at Church Street for the start and finish. Runners falling behind the published pace may be asked to withdraw for safety as roads are reopened in line with the event timetable.
