Shropshire Santa Run (5K) : Oswestry, 6 December 2026
The Shropshire Santa Run is a festive 5K running event in Oswestry, Shropshire, held on Sunday 6th December 2026. The race is open to participants aged 11 years and up. Race headquarters and the start/finish are at the Memorial Hall, Oswestry (SY11 2EG), with the race village a short walk from local parks, car parks, shops and cafes.
Each entry includes a five-piece Santa suit to wear on the course and a Christmas-themed finishers medal. The event takes place on fully closed roads; marshals will be in place and spectators are asked to stay off the course until runners have passed. Church Street is suggested as a spectator area and the route has good pavement coverage.
Practical information provided by the organiser includes parking at Bailey Head car park (SY11 1PZ) or Salop Road Central Car Park (SY11 2NR). Local residents are asked to note temporary road closures and may need to move vehicles before closures begin. The published race cut-off time is 70 minutes; participants who fall behind this pace may be withdrawn to allow roads to reopen.
Santa suit collection is arranged before the event at The Lounge, Cross Street, Oswestry (SY11 2NG), with additional collection at Race HQ on the morning of the event.
