Two Crosses Circuit
The Two Crosses Circuit is an organised walking and running event held on 8 March 2026 from Greenmount Old School Community Centre, Brandlesholme Road, Greenmount BL8 4DS. The route passes through Western Pennine reservoirs and moors and is managed by LDWA East Lancs.
Distances offered:
- 26 miles (long route; minimum age 18)
- 18 miles (shorter route; entrants aged under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian)
Entrants must be at least 14 years old on the day. Runners are welcome. The event has a nine hour overall time limit and checkpoint cutoffs; marshals may divert or retire participants who do not meet event rules or safety requirements. Food at checkpoints cannot be guaranteed free from allergens.
Recommended equipment includes clothing and footwear appropriate to the conditions, waterproofs, compass, whistle, mug and one of the following maps: 1:50000 OS 109 Manchester or 1:25000 West Pennine Moors Explorer 287. Electronic versions of the route and maps are permitted. Participants are expected to follow the route description and check in at all checkpoints; retirees must inform an event official.
