40th Two Crosses Circuit
The 40th Two Crosses Circuit takes place on 8 March 2026 from Greenmount Old School Community Centre, Brandlesholme Road, Greenmount, BL8 4DS. The route goes across Western Pennine reservoirs and moors and is organised by LDWA - East Lancs.
There are two route options:
- 18 miles
- 26 miles
Entrants must be 14 years or older on the day. Under 18s are limited to the 18 mile route and must be accompanied at all times by a parent or guardian. Runners and walkers may enter. The event currently operates a waiting list; new entries are placed on the waiting list while the event is full. Entry fees are listed for members and non members.
The event has a nine hour time limit. Checkpoint closures and cut offs apply; long route entrants must reach the 7.5 mile cut off or they will be diverted to the shorter route. All participants must check in at checkpoints and notify an event official if they retire. Event marshals may short route or retire anyone judged unfit to continue or unable to finish within the time limit. Food at checkpoints cannot be guaranteed free from allergens.
Required equipment includes suitable clothing and footwear, waterproofs, compass, whistle, mug and a map (1:50000 OS109 Manchester or 1:25000 West Pennine Moors Explorer 287). Electronic maps and route descriptions are allowed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
