Stan Bradshaw Pendle Round
The Stan Bradshaw Pendle Round is a BM category fell race held in the South and West Pennines region of England. Starting and finishing at the Barley Village Hall near Burnley, Lancashire, the course covers a total distance of 15 km (9.3 miles). Participants navigate a route that includes 545 m (1788 ft) of total ascent.
The event is held under a permit with UK Athletics insurance provided by the FRA. Because of the nature of the terrain and the category of the race, specific skills are required for participants, including experience and competence in fell running, local knowledge, and navigation skills. The minimum age for entry is 18 years.
The race has a participation limit of 300 runners. Registration options include both pre-entry via SI Entries and entry on the day. Runners in the V70 age category may request an earlier start by prior arrangement with the organizers.
The venue at Barley Village Hall provides refreshments for participants before and after the event. A mobile sports equipment van is typically located in the car park. The route remains consistent with previous years, and digital maps are provided by the organizing club, Clayton-le-Moors Harriers. Currently, the course records stand at 01:01:55 for the male category and 01:10:08 for the female category. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
