Date and Location

The Herring Run will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2026. It takes place at 352 Mascarene Rd., Mascarene, New Brunswick, Canada.

Registration

Registration opens on February 1 at 6 AM. The entry fee is $65. The event is capped at 115 racers, with a waiting list for 20 people. Registration transfers and day-of registrations are not permitted.

The Course

The race offers two trail distances:

  • 11 km (1 loop)
  • 22 km (2 loops)

The 2026 course is described as more technical and longer than in previous years. The 11 km loop has 306m of elevation gain. It features technical single and double track trails, two paved road crossings (including a 475m section), and a low tide cove crossing. An aid station is available only for the 22k runners at the lap mark.

Event Details

A free, locally sourced, mostly organic luncheon is provided for racers and volunteers. A kids' race of approximately half a mile (about 800 meters) is also held. Free camping is available on-site in the fields. Prizes are provided by sponsors, including Salomon Trail Running and River and Trail Outdoor Company.
