The Herring Run Trail Race
The Herring Run is held on a single 9.75 km loop, run once or twice depending on the entrant's choice. The race takes place on July 19, 2026 at 352 Mascarene Rd, Mascarene, NB, Canada.
The 2026 course differs from previous years: it is more technical, contains about 25% more technical singletrack, has no road section, and the loop has 278 m of vertical gain. The trail runs into the woods and along the rocky shore of Passamaquoddy Bay and includes a cove crossing at low tide. Running the loop twice creates a 19.5 km distance; for the double-loop option there is a 1.5 hour cutoff for the first lap to ensure the cove is crossed at low tide. The stated goal is to have all racers finished within 3 hours regardless of distance.
Registration opened on February 1 and both distances are listed as sold out. The listed fee for each distance was CA$65. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
