This event on November 14, 2026 is a community memorial fundraising run along the Virginia Capital Trail in Williamsburg, Virginia. The event supports ovarian cancer screening, treatment, and education for uninsured and under-insured women in the greater Williamsburg area. Funds from the annual run are deposited into an ovarian cancer endowment fund; since 2009 the program has distributed over $277,000 and the endowment value had grown to over $377,000 as of January 2024.
The event includes multiple in-person and virtual options. The in-person course starts and finishes near the zero mile marker on the Virginia Capital Trail and the race day packet pick up and after-race party are held in the Meadows opposite the Jamestown Settlement parking lot. In-person participants receive a custom printed wicking t-shirt if registered by November 2, 2026 and entry to the post-race party; participants 21 and older receive a complimentary beer at the party.
Awards differ by event: the 8K run awards the top three male and female overall plus age-group awards (19 and under, then five-year groups from 20-24 through 75 and over); the 8K competitive walk awards the top three men and women; the 5K awards the top five men and women overall.
