Hardmoors 60
The Hardmoors 60 is a coastal ultramarathon scheduled for 19 September 2026 covering approximately 63 miles from Guisborough to Filey along the Cleveland Way. The route passes Saltburn, Runswick Bay, Staithes, Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay, Ravenscar and Scarborough, following cliff tops for much of the course. Total ascent is listed as 8,202 ft (about 2,500 m). Competitors have an overall cut-off of 18 hours and must pass all checkpoints within the stated time limits.
The race start is at Guisborough Rugby Club and the finish is at Filey Methodist Church. There are multiple manned checkpoints with water and food provided at several locations; some checkpoints are water-only. Organisers do not supply plastic cups, so runners should bring their own cup. Trackers are included with entries and are issued at registration for live online location tracking.
Two non-returnable drop bags are allowed and must fit the size of a supermarket carrier bag; designated drop-bag points are at Runswick Bay (about 21 miles) and Ravenscar (about 40 miles). Mandatory kit must be carried for the duration of the event and includes items such as a waterproof jacket, hat and gloves, a minimum of 0.5 litre water, two headtorches (one as a spare), paper map, whistle, survival bag/foil blanket and a mobile phone with spare power.
