The Hardmoors 60
The route follows the Cleveland Way from Guisborough to Filey, passing coastal resorts and fishing villages including Saltburn, Staithes, Robin Hoods Bay, Ravenscar and Scarborough, and follows cliff tops for the main duration. The event starts at Guisborough Rugby Club and finishes in Filey.
Entry has a minimum age requirement of 20 years. Race entry includes a GPS tracker to show a competitor's location online for safety and spectator tracking; trackers are assigned at registration and must be surrendered if a runner is withdrawn at a checkpoint.
Mandatory kit is checked at registration and must be carried during the event. Required items include a hat or bandana, gloves, a waterproof jacket with taped seams, at least 500 ml of fluid, a headtorch with spare batteries and a spare torch, a paper Cleveland Way or OS map, a whistle, a survival bag or foil blanket, and a mobile phone with charger or spare battery. Race number attachment and safety pins or a race belt are also required.
Competitors may use two non returnable drop bags. Drop Bag 1 is for Runswick Bay (about 21 miles) and Drop Bag 2 is for Ravenscar (about 40 miles). Drop bags must be no larger than a supermarket carrier bag and must be clearly labelled.
Checkpoint locations include High Cliff Nab, Saltburn Band Stand, Runswick Bay, Hornblower, Ravenscar, Scarborough and Filey. Cut off times at checkpoints are strictly enforced and the marshal decision is final. Support crew restrictions apply at several checkpoints and no dogs are allowed. Relay teams may enter with two to four runners and must visit checkpoints. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
