The event is a team relay of four legs, each a measured 1 mile, held in Stewart Park, Ladgate Lane, Middlesbrough TS7 8AT. The registration tent and the start line are located next to the Captain Cook Birthplace Museum. A car park is just off Ladgate Lane on the B1380.
Teams consist of four runners and the minimum age for all categories is 10 years. Runners must compete in the order entered (A, B, C etc.). Each leg takes place on marked and marshalled paths within the park.
Prizes are awarded across multiple categories including male open, female open, combined-age male team with a minimum total of 200 years, combined-age female team with a minimum total of 160 years, mixed team, fastest leg awards for male and female, new course leg records, and a race director special prize.
Entry is online only. Wave 1 entries are open for one week; during Wave 1 each club may enter up to five teams and the club name must be provided at entry. Entries beyond five teams from the same club will be cancelled and refunded less any administration charges applied by the entry system; any remaining teams will be available in Wave 2. Only the team captain needs to register online; runners’ names can be submitted in advance by email or provided on the night. Fees are £18 per affiliated team and £20 per non affiliated team.
