Halloween 5 and 10 Miles
The Halloween 5 and 10 Miles is a community road running event organised by Exeter City Community Trust. It takes place on Sunday, October 25 and starts at the Piazza Terracina by the Exeter Canal Basin. The course runs along sections of the Exe Valley River Park and is described as flat and fast.
The event offers two distance options:
- 5 miles
- 10 miles, two laps of the 5 mile route
Course support and facilities include water stations and medical assistance on the route. The finish area typically provides toilets, a water station, a recovery area, a medical station, and a bag store. All finishers receive a medal. Results and route information are published after the race, and resources such as a route map, marshal points and race instructions are available for participants.
The organiser frames the event as a fundraiser to support sports participation and wellbeing activities across the community. England Athletics members benefit from discounted entry to UKA licensed events operated by the organiser. On age guidance, the organiser notes recommended ages of over 15 for the 5 mile event and over 17 for the 10 mile event; UK Athletics sets a minimum participant age of 17 on the day for sanctioned events.
