The Great West Chase
The Great West Chase is an annual community race held in Westchase, Tampa. The 2026 edition is scheduled for Saturday, October 31 and is organized by WOW magazine to raise funds for area elementary schools. One hundred percent of the event's net proceeds support math and literacy programs.
The event features three races:
- 10K USATF/RRTC certified (Certification Code FL23032JK)
- 5K Run/Walk USATF/RRTC certified (Certification Code FL23031JK)
- Fun Run for children
The event typically draws over 1,300 participants across the three races. Start and finish lines are located in the West Park Village Town Center. Packet pickup is held at the Westchase Recreation Center, 9791 Westchase Dr., Tampa, FL 33626, with designated pickup hours on the Thursday before the race.
Registration options include online, by mail, in person at packet pickup, or on race day, with early registration offered before September 15. The race lists a title sponsor and multiple supporting local businesses and organizations.
