Waterville Marathon Running Festival
Maine Endurance Sports Alliance (MESA), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, organizes the Waterville Marathon running festival on October 4, 2026, at Head of Falls Park next to the 2-cent bridge in Waterville, Maine. The event includes multiple race distances and a city-to-countryside course that proceeds down Main Street in Waterville, continues toward Fairfield, travels through Clinton and Benton, and returns to cross the 2-cent bridge to the finish.
Distances offered:
- 26.2 miles full marathon
- 13.1 miles half marathon
- 10K road race
- 5K road race
The event is in the process of USATF sanctioning and Boston certification. Organizers provide a vendor area at the finish, nearby parking, and local lodging and dining options. Packet pickup is scheduled for October 3, 2026 from 3:00 to 6:00 pm at THE MAINE EXPERIENCE near the starting area, with additional pickup on race morning at the registration tent. Participants with bottled items may leave them at the operations tent at the starting area for retrieval at water stations; bottles are accepted there until 6:00 am.
The festival also offers special multi-race medals: Run the Moose for completing Augusta and Waterville marathons, Run the Highlands for completing Bangor and Lincoln events, and the Vacationland Triple Crown for completing three of the four races in 2026.
