Event overview
The Indoor Insanity is an indoor 5K race held on January 11, 2026, at the Harold Alfond Athletics & Recreation Center, Colby College, Waterville, Maine. The event takes place entirely indoors and includes music and on-site amenities. Race entries are chip-timed and provide split times for each lap, giving participants multiple lap and finish data points. Hand tally counters will be available to help runners track laps; the timing provider does not guarantee individual lap counts during heats.

Format, logistics and fundraising
Runners choose from multiple heats organized by expected 5K pace: a fastest heat (targeting about 15-20 minute 5K), an intermediate heat (about 20-27 minute 5K), and a third heat open to a range of paces. Heat 1 has a field limit of 30 runners; Heat 2 has a field limit of 75 runners. Walkers have a dedicated lane and a separate event category; the Kids Fun Run is for younger participants.
The event is a fundraiser to address radon in Maine homes. Organizers state that 100% of registration fees and participant fundraising/donations will be used to fix radon problems in low-income Maine households. Race shirts are available for purchase if ordered by December 22, 2025; fundraising thresholds may qualify participants for a performance T. No individual refunds are provided; bib transfers are allowed through the event director. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
