Augusta Marathon - Running Festival
The Augusta Marathon Running Festival is organized by the Maine Endurance Sports Alliance, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and takes place in Augusta, Maine on July 12, 2026. The event is USATF sanctioned and the marathon is Boston certified (Marathon ME25002JK).
The festival offers multiple distances:
- 26.2 Miles full marathon
- 13.1 Miles half marathon
- 10K road race
- 5K road race
The full marathon course departs from 397 Civic Center Dr, follows Route 11/27 to Belgrade Lakes, and returns to the starting area. Official timing for the event is provided by Pine Tree Racing Services. There is no time limit for the marathon.
Race logistics include packet pickup the day before the event at THE MAINE EXPERIENCE near the starting area, a vendor area at the finish line, and nearby parking, lodging, and dining. Participants may leave bottles at the operations tent at the starting line for placement at water stations.
The festival includes multi race medal programs for 2026. These include awards for combinations of races such as completing both Augusta and Waterville events, completing Bangor and Lincoln events, and a Vacationland Triple Crown for finishing three of the four races offered in 2026.
