Augusta Marathon - Full/Half/10K/5K - Running Festival
The Augusta Marathon Running Festival is organized by the Maine Endurance Sports Alliance, a non-profit organization. The event takes place in Augusta, Maine, with the start and finish located at Elk Lodge on Civic Center Drive. The marathon course is USATF sanctioned and Boston certified, taking participants out along Route 11/27 toward Belgrade Lakes before returning to the starting location.
The festival features four distinct distances:
- Augusta Marathon
- Augusta Half Marathon
- Augusta 10K
- Augusta 5K
The organizers have established an open environment for participants by not enforcing a time limit for completing the races. Professional timing services are provided to track results for all distances. Participants have the option to submit personal hydration bottles at the operations tent prior to the event, which are then placed on designated tables at each water station along the course.
The finish line area includes a vendor section for participants and guests. Packet pickup is scheduled for the day prior to the race at a location near the starting line. In 2026, the event is part of two special medal series: the "Run the Highlands" medal for those completing specific combinations of the Bangor and Lincoln marathons, and the "Vacationland Triple Crown" for completing three out of four alliance races within the calendar year.
