The Great Twilight Deadman's Hill 2 Mile Run
This is an evening point to point 2 mile running event in Brunswick, Maryland. The course is largely flat or downhill, with organizers describing it as 95 percent flat or downhill. The start location is Brunswick Middle School at 301 Cummings Drive; the finish is at Square Corner Park in downtown Brunswick.
The route follows Cummings Drive, turns onto 9th Avenue, then descends the section known as Deadman's Hill and continues along East Potomac Street to the finish. The event is organized as a point to point course rather than an out and back.
Registration opens in early June and online pre-registration closes in mid-August. Entry fees are tiered by age: 12 and under $5, ages 13 to 18 $10, and 19 and older $15. An additional $5 applies for race day registration. Shuttle service is provided from the downtown Square Corner Park area and the MARC train lot to the start so runners can park near the finish and be transported to the start; participants may also park at the start and arrange their own return.
The event benefits BARC and BHS track and field equipment purchases. Final times will be recorded for interested participants; the course record listed for 2023 is 11:20. After the run participants are offered an ice cream sundae, lemonade, and snacks, with ice cream supplied by Little Red Barn Ice Cream Shop of Jefferson Maryland.
