The Great Recycle Race-Earth Day

The Great Recycle Race-Earth Day is a running event centered on the theme of environmental sustainability. Held at Columbia Park in Shreveport, the event focuses on reducing waste by distributing surplus inventory from previous races. Participants receive medals and shirts from unawarded stock, ensuring these materials are put to use rather than discarded.

The course is located entirely within the park and consists of approximately three 1-mile loops. The event features two primary categories:

  • 3 mile No Shirt
  • 3 mile WITH SHIRT

Those who select the option without a shirt contribute to a donation for Woody's Home for Veterans. The race serves as an opportunity for the community to participate in a timed event while supporting recycling efforts. Following the run, refreshments are provided to all participants. The venue is located at 700 Columbia Street. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
