The Great Divide Ultra
The Great Divide Ultra is a weekend trail running festival in Divide, Colorado, held in early June. Distances offered include:
- 100 mile
- 100k
- 50k
- 25k
Races take place on looped routes inside Mueller State Park. The course is entirely smooth single and double track trail and passes spring-fed meadows, Pikes Peak granite formations, and wide mountain views. The 100 mile route is composed of six 14.8 mile loops and one 10.5 mile loop. Aid stations are spaced about 4.3 to 6.1 miles apart, are crew accessible, and allow drop bags.
Reported elevation range for the courses is 9,189 feet to 9,743 feet. Approximate elevation gains provided are 16,071 feet for the 100 mile, 8,500 feet for the 100k, 4,200 feet for the 50k, and 2,100 feet for the 25k. The 100 mile event uses a 36 hour overall cutoff.
Logistics note that 100 mile, 100k, and the night run use parking near the Livery and equestrian areas. 50k and 25k runners and crew are directed to park at John Wesley Ranch and are shuttled to the start and back to vehicles. Registration closes on June 3. Registration items include a gender specific race shirt, a BOCO trucker hat, a personalized bib, finishers awards, and a post race meal.
