Chasing Santa 5k and Cycling Santa Toy Drive
The Chasing Santa 5k and Cycling Santa Toy Drive is an annual community event held in Colorado Springs. Now in its 15th year, this event functions as a toy drive to support local children and families through the Give It Forward initiative. Participants are encouraged to bring unwrapped toys to contribute to the collection. The event features both running and cycling categories held at the Mark Dabling Blvd location.
Registration for the event includes a complete professional Santa suit, which consists of pants, a jacket, a belt, a hat, and a beard. Participants wear these suits while completing their chosen distance. For the cycling events, the Buffalo Lodge Bicycle Resort serves as a designated host and turnaround point for the longer distance, offering coffee and waffles to cyclists before they head back.
The event offers several distances for different activities:
- 5k running and walking race for adults, kids, and toddlers
- 6 miles cycling route
- 10 miles cycling route
- 21 miles cycling route
Toddlers aged four and under can participate for free with a registered adult and also receive a Santa suit. Suit pickup is organized at the Mark Dabling Blvd location on the day before the event and the morning of the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
