The Fountain 5K Run & Walk
The Fountain 5K Run & Walk is the 17th annual community 5K event in Terrell, Texas, held on April 24, 2027 at 1314 W. Moore Ave., at the Terrell Chamber of Commerce Building. The course is a 3.2 mile neighborhood route that passes historic homes and showcases the city’s heritage. The event will take place rain or shine.
The event includes categories for adults, a category for ages 9 to 18 and college students, and a kids category for age 8 and under. Registration fees listed for the categories are $30 for the general 5K, $15 for the 9–18 and college student category, and $10 for the kids category. Runners registered by the end of April 8 are guaranteed a t shirt in the desired size; orders for shirts are placed on April 9.
Race day activities include race day registration and packet pickup, a warm up, and award presentations after the last finisher. Awards are presented to 1st Overall male and female and to the top three male and female finishers in the following age groups: 8 and under, 9–14, 15–19, 20–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, 60–69, and 70 and over. To be eligible for an award, participants must wear a timing tag.
The event is organized to benefit the Volunteer Services Council of Terrell State Hospital. Since 1952 that council has worked to obtain goods, services, and monetary donations and to provide personal attention beyond the hospital’s regular care and treatment.
