Event overview
The Flying Scotsman takes place on 12 and 13 September 2026 at the Premier Inn, Lakeside Grove, Caldecotte, Milton Keynes (MK7 8HP). Each day includes a marathon and a half marathon. Both distances are run clockwise on laps around Caldecotte Lake.
Distances:
- Marathon - 7½ laps of Caldecotte Lake
- Half marathon - 3½ laps of Caldecotte Lake
Logistics and entry
Each marathon has a hard time limit of 7:00 hours; any finishers over this time will be recorded as DNF. The half marathon has a 4:00 hour limit. All finishers receive a unique bespoke medal. Race support listed for the events includes a starter, timekeeper, race referee, a large pub car park, and water and toilets available every lap of the lake course. Participants are asked to use suitable clothing and footwear. The event is held in accordance with 100 Marathon Club rules.
Entry fees are £39.99 for a marathon and £32.99 for a half marathon. The organiser does not offer refunds. Deferred entries can be transferred to another Enigma event up to seven days before the event and must be used within 18 months of the original event date.
