Event overview

The Flying Scotsman takes place on 12 and 13 September 2026 at the Premier Inn, Lakeside Grove, Bletcham Way, Caldecotte, Milton Keynes, MK7 8HP. The event runs over two days with separate marathon and half marathon races on each day. All races are run clockwise around Caldecotte Lake.

Distances

  • Marathon - 7½ laps of Caldecotte Lake (per marathon event)
  • Half marathon - 3½ laps of Caldecotte Lake (per half marathon event)

Course, limits and support

Each marathon has a hard time limit of 7:00 hours; finishers over this time will be recorded as DNF. Each half marathon has a time limit of 4:00 hours. Race support includes a starter, timekeeper and race referee. Water and toilets are provided each lap of the lake course. A large pub car park is available near the venue.

Entry, rules and conditions

Entry fees are stated as £39.99 for each marathon and £32.99 for each half marathon. Registration includes a route description given at the location. There are no refunds; entries may be deferred to another Enigma Running event up to seven days before the event, and deferred entries must be used within 18 months. The event is held in accordance with 100 Marathon Club rules. All participants must be 18 years or over and accept the event risk and the limits on organiser liability.
