The FAB 5K in Hamilton
The FAB 5K is a community run and walk event presented to support the Fit Active Beautiful Foundation. The event is scheduled for June 20, 2026 at Confederation Park in Hamilton, with the start and finish at Edgewater Pavilion. The course is mostly flat and runs along the Lake Ontario shoreline on the Hamilton Beach Strip. The route description notes an initial 100 m to the path, about 1.2 km to a first turnaround just before a wooden bridge, roughly 2.4 km to a second turnaround past Barangas, then about 1.2 km back to Edgewater Pavilion.

The event functions as a key fundraiser for the foundation's free annual program for approximately 165 youth girls from priority neighbourhoods in Hamilton. The program provides each participant with a new pair of running shoes, a training t-shirt, healthy snacks at sessions, a goal setting journal, transportation, and race entries. Funds raised to date total CA$9,774 with a goal of CA$14,000.
Registration pricing shown in the event information lists early bird rates of CA$25 for the 1K and CA$40 for the 5K, and rates from April 1 of CA$35 for the 1K and CA$50 for the 5K.
