Event overview
The FAB 5K takes place on June 20, 2026, at Confederation Park in Hamilton. The event includes a 5K run/walk and a 1K fun run. The start and finish are at the Edgewater Pavilion, and the course runs along the Hamilton Beach Strip by Lake Ontario. Strollers are allowed. Course and logistics
The course is described as mostly flat and starts and ends at the Edgewater Pavilion. Route segments are given in approximate distances: an initial 100 m to the path, about 1.2 km to the first turnaround before a wooden bridge, roughly 2.4 km along the beach to a second turnaround just past Barangas, then about 1.2 km back to the pavilion and a final 100 m into the finish. Entrance into Confederation Park is free. There is a large free parking lot past the Edgewater Pavilion on the left.
Fundraising and program
The event is a fundraiser for the Fit Active Beautiful Foundation. The fundraising goal shown is $10,000 and the current amount listed is $0. The FAB program runs each spring for about 165 youth girls in Hamilton priority neighbourhoods. The program provides free training with volunteer coaches and supplies such as running shoes, a training t-shirt, snacks, a goal-setting journal, and transportation and race entry.
Registration and fees
Early bird registration (prior to April 1, 2026) lists 1K at $25 and 5K at $40. Registration as of April 1 lists 1K at $35 and 5K at $50. Processing fees apply. Participants who raise $200 or more may be reimbursed their entry fee; other fundraising thresholds are noted for prize draws. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
