Frigid 10K and Frosty 5K
The event offers two official distances:
- 10 km
- 5 km
The primary site listed is HMCS STAR, Catharine Street North, Hamilton, ON. Event activities also reference The Discovery Centre at 57 Discovery Dr, Hamilton, ON. Route information indicates a 10 km double loop and a 5 km out-and-back course.
Both in-person and virtual participation options are available. The virtual race can be completed during a late-February to March window; virtual results can be tracked with the ASICS Runkeeper app or submitted manually. Virtual participants receive a finisher's shirt and medal and may choose kit mailing or pickup at scheduled kit collection locations.
Race kits include a long sleeve technical shirt offered in men's and women's sizing and two colour choices, including a yellow reflective 30th anniversary edition where sizing is limited. A medal is provided. Limited-quantity merchandise is available, including a quilted running vest in five colours.
If the in-person event cannot proceed as planned it will be converted to a virtual race; in that case no refunds or price differences will be issued, but participants will still receive their race kit.
Donations support the Mental Health and Addictions Program at Joseph Brant Hospital; tax receipts are issued for donations of $20.00 or more. Non-perishable food items will be collected for Hamilton Food Share. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
