The Dryer Triathlon
The Dryer Triathlon is a sprint multisport event held in Katy, Texas, with the finish area at the Katy Beer Garden and transition at the Katy Natatorium, 6331 Hwy. Blvd. Parking is at the Katy High School Natatorium with shuttle service to transition once it opens. The field is limited to 550 athletes.
The event program includes a sprint triathlon, a duathlon, an aquabike and relay divisions. Distances for the main formats include:
- 300 m swim, 12.9 mi bike, 3.10 mi run
- 0.50 mi run, 12.9 mi bike, 3.0 mi run
- 300 m swim, 12.9 mi bike
This is a USA Triathlon sanctioned race; each participating athlete must have a USA Triathlon membership or purchase one at registration or packet pickup. Timing is electronic with chip timing and split times that include transitions. Chips are distributed at packet pickup and must be returned after the event.
Packet pickup occurs on March 4, March 5 and March 6 at local retailers in the Katy area. Awards include overall top male and female, overall top master male and female, top three in age groups and medals for selected Clydesdale and Athena categories and relay teams. The Katy Beer Garden provides post‑race refreshments and space for team tents. All athletes receive an event shirt and finisher medal, subject to registration timing.
