Katy YMCA Turkey Dash

The Katy YMCA Turkey Dash is an annual running event on Thanksgiving Day (November 26, 2026). It takes place at 22807 Westheimer Parkway in Katy, Texas. This marks the event's 24th year.

The event features four distances:

  • 10K Timed Run
  • 5K Timed Walk/Run
  • 1 Mile Family Walk/Run
  • 1 Mile Kids Race (for ages 3 to 12 only)

All finishers receive a medal. There is a post-race party with a Kids Zone and opportunities to engage with local businesses. All proceeds from the event support the Katy community through YMCA scholarships.

  • The 10K course is USATF certified.
  • Packet pickup is available at the Monty Ballard YMCA at Cinco Ranch on specific days before the race.
  • Parking is available at nearby locations, and a shuttle service runs from the Super Target parking lot.
  • Day-of-race registration is not available.
  • The course has a time limit, with roads reopening to traffic at 10:00 AM.
  • Strollers are allowed, but participants with strollers are asked to start at the back of their corral.
  • Dogs are not allowed on the course but can be spectators on a leash in the post-race area.
  • Medical support is provided on the course via bike medics and an ambulance in the post-race area.
  • Water stations are positioned along the 5K and 10K courses.
  • Awards are given to the top three performers in each age group for the 5K and 10K, with an overall awards ceremony.
