Format and rules

Participants may enter solo or in a team. At registration, all electronic devices and navigational aids are collected and placed in a sealed emergency bag; participants receive a race number and the sealed bag. Competitors board a bus, wear a blackout blindfold or an agreed alternative, and are taken to an undisclosed drop-off location. From that point, participants must find their own way back to the event centre without maps, GPS, compass, or outside help. Only organiser-provided maps, if any, are allowed. Breaking the emergency bag seal or using unauthorised aids results in disqualification.

Entry and tracking

Entry prices listed are £45 for the 10-mile option and £55 for the 15-mile option. Live GPS tracking is offered as an optional, paid feature separate from the entry fee. Trackers are accurate within about 5 metres but can be affected by buildings and signal black spots. Trackers must be returned after the event or a £175 replacement fee applies. Organisers have additional safety features available for use. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
