Wigan 10k - 6 September 2026
The Wigan 10k is a road race organised by the charity Joining Jack, with proceeds directed to that charity. The event takes place in Wigan and uses Mesnes Park as its start and finish location, with a bandstand area providing live entertainment and local food and drink vendors nearby. Key event features include UK Athletics certification and a course accuracy certificate, closed roads for the 10k, and timing chips included in racepacks. Race numbers, timing chips and bag labels are supplied in racepacks for runners who meet the event postage deadlines; late registrants collect numbers on race morning from the Joining Jack information desk. All finishers receive a goody bag and medal and there is a designated bag drop area near the information desk. Pace setters are provided at a range of target finishing times. The event publishes results shortly after the race and provides awards for top finishers and several age categories. Volunteers support course marshalling, aid stations and finish area operations.
