The DeWayne Key Memorial Run
The DeWayne Key Memorial Run is an athletic event held at Moulton Park and Recreation in Moulton, Alabama. This race was previously known as the Jesse Owens Memorial Run and offers multiple participation options for runners and walkers.
The event features the following distances:
- 3.1 Miles (5K) Run and Walk
- 1 Mile Fun Run
The 3.1 Miles race is open to all participants and awards medals to the top three finishers in each age group. Trophies are presented to the overall winner, as well as the winners in the Masters, Grand Masters, and Senior Masters categories. All registered participants in this event receive a tee shirt.
The 1 Mile Fun Run is designed for children aged 0 to 10 years. In the 0 to 6 age category, every participant receives a medal, while the overall winner is awarded a trophy. For the 7 to 10 age group, the top three finishers receive medals and the overall winner receives a trophy.
The event takes place at 13550 Court Street. Registration includes a fee that increases for those who sign up on the day of the event rather than during the pre-registration period. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
