River City Micro Marathon: January 10, 2026

Location and course

The races take place at Point Mallard Park, 2901 Point Mallard Circle SE, Decatur, AL 35601. The marathon uses a micro-marathon loop and requires runners to complete multiple laps of the course through the park. The marathon course is USATF certified and the course meets B.A.A. standards, which can allow qualification for Boston, Chicago or New York marathons. There is a six hour time limit for the marathon with a halfway cutoff at three hours. Age group and overall awards will be given for the marathon, 10K and 5K. All marathon finishers will receive a finishers medal.

Entry fees and proceeds

Published entry fees are: Marathon $105, 10K $55, 5K $45, and Marathon Relay $50. Net proceeds from the event are designated for the Decatur High School Track and Field team to support their upcoming season. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
