The Carnival Frolic 13.1 and 5K 2026 takes place on Saturday, February 14, 2026, in Decatur, Alabama. The event is part of the Carnegie Carnival and benefits the Carnegie Visual Arts Center. The Carnival Frolic is presented as the 10th annual running of the half marathon distance.
Race details
- 13.1 miles : half marathon offered as an individual entry and as a team relay (teams may have up to four members). Individual price listed at $55; team price listed at $110.
- 5K : individual 5K offered with a listed price of $25.
The half marathon course is USATF certified and runs through Decatur historic districts, along the Tennessee River, and through Point Mallard Park. All half marathon finishers receive a race shirt, carnival swag and a finisher medal; relay teams receive race shirts, carnival swag and team finisher medals. 5K participants receive a race shirt, carnival swag and a finisher surprise; the 5K uses an out-and-back on the same Frolic course. Cash prizes and awards are planned for overall half marathon winners and for age-group winners. A post-race celebration for finishers is held at the Carnegie Visual Arts Center and includes food and one complimentary adult beverage. Online registration is available through February 12, 2026; late in-person registration and packet pick-up are available at the Carnegie Visual Arts Center in the days before the race and on race morning.
