The half marathon course is USATF certified and runs through Decatur’s historic districts, along the Tennessee River, and through Point Mallard Park. The 5K runs out-and-back on the same Frolic course.
Entry, logistics and awards
Online registration is available through February 12, 2026; in-person late registration and packet pick-up are offered at the Carnegie Visual Arts Center in the days leading up to the event and on race day. All individual half marathon participants receive a race shirt, carnival swag and a finisher medal. Relay teams receive shirts, swag and team finisher medals. 5K participants receive a race shirt, carnival swag and a finisher surprise; the 5K finish area will provide Mardi Gras donuts and beverage options. Cash and other prizes will be awarded to overall half marathon winners, with additional awards for 10-year age groups. A 3 hour 30 minute finishing time limit applies to the half marathon.
