The Deep North Run 2026
The Deep North Run is an unofficial community half marathon from Tynemouth into Newcastle on Saturday 30 May 2026. The route starts at Tynemouth Priory, follows the coastline and river, and finishes in Ouseburn, Newcastle.
The event features doughnut-fuelled aid stations along the course and coffee on course and at the finish, with a coffee and doughnut included for finishers. A finishers medal is provided. Live tracking and timing are provided via a third-party app so every participant will receive a time, but there is no official chip timing.
This is an unsanctioned point to point event with no road closures. Participants must follow the Highway Code and are responsible for their own pacing, safety and navigation. A GPX route and full event instructions will be provided in advance.
Entry includes event entry, aid stations on route, coffee and a doughnut at the finish, a finishers medal and access to the finish line social in Ouseburn. The event supports If U Care Share, with £5 from every entry donated to the charity. Public transport is recommended for travel and parking in Tynemouth can be busy.
