Darlington 10k and running events
The event day in Market Square on Sunday 1 August 2027 includes a set of organised runs with advance online entry only. Cash and voucher prizes are available.

Race packs are collection only from the Up & Running High Row store, with collection opening earlier than usual and confirmation sent by email and text. If a runner cannot collect in advance, the race pack can be obtained from the race desk on the day; runners should allow extra time for collection. Race numbers include a timing chip attached to the back and must be worn on the front pinned in all four corners. Replacement numbers can be issued at the race desk for a £5 cash charge.
The courses run on public roads that will be closed for the event. Runners must keep to the left side of the carriageway; on the second lap they will be instructed to move to the right side on Coniscliffe Road only. A new cycle lane on Woodlands Road has a lip curb so runners should take care leaving Stanhope Road. Course signage and marshals will be at key junctions.
Water bottles are provided at designated stations and at the finish. Bone conducting headphones are permitted; in ear and over the ear headphones are not allowed. Pets and run buggies are not permitted in the 10k, 5k or junior 3k; pushchairs are allowed on the family fun run. Luggage storage is available in the Dolphin Centre. Portable toilets and additional public toilets are provided near the Market Square and Dolphin Centre. Comprehensive medical cover and first aid responders will be available along the route.
