Cordwell Colossus is a summer trail race held on 8 August 2026, based at Holmesfield Village Hall, Holmesfield, Dronfield S18 7WZ. The event is open to runners and fast walkers aged 18 or older who can complete the course within a 6-hour cut-off. Entry fees listed are £30 for UKA members and £32 for non-members. Entries open 22 August 2025 and close 3 August 2026.
Course and logistics
The route is approximately 20 miles and loops through the Cordwell Valley with a short section into the Linacre Valley. The course runs across hilly farmland, woodland and rural trails, including runnable trails and lanes as well as single-track trods. Less obvious sections will be marked; GPX files and route notes are available and basic navigation skills are recommended.
There are two on-course checkpoints offering sweet and savoury items, and additional refreshments for finishers at the village hall. All finishers receive a Cordwell Colossus medal. Prizes are awarded to the first male and first female finishers. Participant parking is free in the village hall car park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
