The Cordwell Colossus
The Cordwell Colossus is a challenging 20-mile summer trail run held in North Derbyshire, near the eastern edge of the Peak District. The route features a scenic loop through the Cordwell Valley and a section of the neighboring Linacre Valley, covering hilly farmland, woodlands, and rural trails with 840m of ascent. Starting from Holmesfield Village Hall, runners navigate a mix of runnable trails, lanes, and single tracks, with marked sections and available GPX files for guidance.
The event includes two well-stocked checkpoints and refreshments at the finish. It welcomes runners and fast walkers who can complete the course within six hours, with medals awarded to all finishers and prizes for top male and female runners.
