Cordwell Colossus : Saturday 8 August 2026

The Cordwell Colossus is a summer trail event in North East Derbyshire, on the eastern edge of the Peak District. The event is based at Holmesfield Village Hall, Holmesfield, Dronfield, S18 7WZ. Entries open 22 August 2025 and close 3 August 2026. Minimum age is 18. Entry fees are £30 for UKA members and £32 for non-members. Entries recorded so far: 3 participants. The event organiser is First Light Adventure.

Course and race details

The route is a loop of just over 20 miles with 840 m of ascent, covering the Cordwell and Linacre Valleys. Terrain includes woodland tracks, hilly farmland, rural trails, lanes, single-track and trods. The route will be marked on less obvious sections; a GPX file and route notes are available and basic navigation skills are desirable. There are two checkpoints on the course offering sweet and savoury items and additional refreshments at the village hall for finishers. Car parking is free for participants in the village hall car park. All finishers receive a Cordwell Colossus medal. Prizes are awarded to the first male and first female runners. The event is open to runners and fast walkers able to meet the event cut-off. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
