Ricky's Race

Ricky’s Race is held in Darley Dale, near Matlock, and organized by Matlock Athletic Club. The 7.3 km (4.5 miles) course features about 240 m (787 ft) of climb. Runners start on a forest trail with a brief flat section, then ascend through tree-root–strewn woods, including a short tarmac stretch before a sustained climb.

Descent follows on wooden, uneven surfaces with mud, then a second wooded ascent toward South Darley. The final challenge is a steep 1:3 hill to the Oker Trig Point, offering spectacular views over the Derwent Valley as runners reach the finish in a final field.
