Eccles Pike Fell Race 2026
Eccles Pike Fell Race is scheduled for Wednesday 12 August 2026 and is organised by Goyt Valley Striders. The race uses Bugsworth War Memorial Club / Buxworth Memorial Club as Race HQ, which is close to the race start and finish.
The course is a short fell race of 3.4 miles (5.5 km) with 901 ft (275 m) of climb. The event is described as one of the oldest fell races in the country with a history exceeding 100 years and is noted by the organiser for being short, tough and demanding.
Entry is offered through the organiser’s online system with an entry fee of £10.00; a £1.00 discount applies for FRA members. Numbers are collected on the day. The organiser states that the race often sells out and that on-the-day entries are unlikely.
Parking information supplied by the organiser notes possible charges at the Navigation Inn car park, a large car park at Tesco about 1 km away on the canal, and additional parking on the day; entrants are asked not to block the race route. Transfers and deferrals are normally permitted up to 48 hours before the event.
