Eccles Pike Fell Race 2026
Eccles Pike Fell Race takes place on Wednesday 12 August 2026 and is organised by Goyt Valley Striders. Race headquarters will be at Buxworth Memorial Club, close to the start and finish of the course.
The race has a history going back over 100 years and is described as short, tough and demanding. The course covers 3.4 miles (5.5 km) and includes 901 ft (275 m) of climb. Race numbers are collected on the day.
The standard entry fee is £10.00 with a £1.00 discount for FRA members. Entries often sell out, so on-the-day entry is unlikely. Transfers or deferrals are normally permitted up to 48 hours before the event. Refunds are issued only at the race organiser’s discretion; if an event is rescheduled entries will be transferred to the new date where possible.
Parking arrangements include a large car park at Tesco about 1 km away on the canal. If parking at the Navigation Inn, payment may be required; the pub is currently closed and the ANPR camera has been removed but the payment machine remains. Participants are asked not to park at the far end of the car park where vehicles could block the race route. Additional parking will be available on the day.
