Event Overview

The Coast Half Marathon and 10K is a road running event set in County Down, Northern Ireland. It follows an out-and-back course starting and finishing in the coastal village of Killough. The routes offer views of the Mourne Mountains and the coastline.

Race Distances & Course

The event offers two distances: a 10K race and a Half Marathon.

  • The 10K route begins on Killough village green, goes via Main Street onto a country road toward Rossglass. Runners turn back at Rossglass after a view of the Mourne Mountains meeting the sea.
  • The Half Marathon route follows the initial 10K course but continues along the coast toward St. John's Point Lighthouse. Participants pass the ruins of an ancient church from 1170 and reach the lighthouse, which has operated since 1844. Runners then return via Rossglass and continue toward Tyrella, hugging the coastline with views of Minerstown Beach and the Mourne Mountains. A U-turn is made before Tyrella Beach for the return to the finish in Killough.
