The Cheap Marathon (Windham and Derry, NH)
The Cheap Marathon is a marathon and half marathon held on the Windham and Derry Rail Trail. The course is an out and back on the rail trail with one loop for the half marathon and two loops for the marathon. The course is USATF certified for Boston Qualifying with code NH26003JK and lists total elevation gains of 203 ft for the half and 406 ft for the marathon.

The event uses a time trial start format with seeded start groups and individualized start times. The overall marathon course limit is six hours, requiring an average pace near 13:44 per mile. Two mandatory cutoffs are enforced on course at Mile 13 and Mile 17; participants who miss these cutoffs will be directed to the finish and recorded as half marathon finishers.
Aid stations are positioned about every three miles and provide water, Gatorade, and port-o-johns. Mile markers count down to the finish, showing remaining miles rather than miles completed. Gear check is available near the registration and post race area and may be exposed to the elements.
Event services include shuttle bus parking, limited pre purchased VIP parking, free digital race photos, finish line video links, a finisher ribbon for each finisher, and digital awards for top overall and age group finishers.
