53rd Annual GDTC Thanksgiving Turkey Trot
The event is a certified 5K road race held on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2026, at Galliens Town Beach on Beaver Lake, 39 Pond Road, Derry, New Hampshire. The course is a USATF certified 5K, USATF #NH9306WN, routed clockwise through residential roads around Beaver Lake and noted for several scenic vistas.
There are in-person and virtual options. Entry fees differ by category: pre-registration fees for adults (14 and older) and kids (13 and under) are listed, with higher fees for day-of registration. Virtual registration is available for a separate fee. A race shirt is provided only to entrants who register by November 1, 2026; shirts for kid or virtual registrations can be purchased for an additional fee, and November 1 is the cutoff to receive a race shirt.
Organizers request a donation of non-perishable canned goods or dry food items from all entries; donations support food pantries in the Greater Derry area. A small cash donation is accepted if a physical donation is forgotten.
Packet pickup is scheduled at two local locations in the days before the event. Parking is available at Pinkerton Academy with continuous bus transportation to the race site; parking is not permitted on Route 102. Awards are given to the top three male and top three female finishers. If weather threatens cancellation, no refunds will be issued and shirt pickup becomes the responsibility of the entrant.
