GDTC Thanksgiving Turkey Trot : Derry, NH
The GDTC Thanksgiving Turkey Trot is the 53rd annual 5K road race held on November 26, 2026 at Galliens Town Beach on Beaver Lake, 39 Pond Road, Derry, New Hampshire. The event offers in-person and virtual 5K options.
There are three entry categories: adult (14 and older) 5K run/walk, kid (13 and under) 5K run/walk, and a virtual 5K. Pre-registration fees are listed as $30 for adults and $10 for kids, with higher day-of fees if available. The virtual entry fee is $10. Shirt availability differs by category: registrants who complete registration by November 1, 2026 will receive a long sleeve shirt with a four-color logo; children and virtual entrants may purchase a shirt for an additional $10 and must order by November 1 to receive it.
All entries are asked to donate a non-perishable canned good or dry food item for local food pantries; small cash donations are accepted if a participant forgets a donation. Packet pickup will occur at Derry Sports and Rehab (23A Crystal Ave) and at Galliens Beach in the days before the event; race day packet pickup and registration will also be available.
The course is a USATF certified 5K (USATF #NH9306WN) that runs clockwise around residential roads of Beaver Lake and includes several scenic vistas. Parking is available at Pinkerton Academy with continuous bus transportation to the race site; parking on Route 102 is not permitted. Top three male and female finishers will receive awards.
