GDTC Thanksgiving Turkey Trot - Derry
The event is a Thanksgiving Day 5K held at Galliens Town Beach on Beaver Lake in Derry, New Hampshire. The course is a certified 5K (3.1 miles), USATF number NH9306WN, and runs clockwise around the residential roads of Beaver Lake with several scenic vistas.
Distances and categories:
- Adult 5K for ages 13 and older
- Kid 5K for ages 12 and under on race day
- Virtual 5K option
Entry fees listed by the organizer include pre-registration and day-of rates: adult pre-registration $25 and day-of $30; kid pre-registration $10 and day-of $15; virtual entry $10. Shirt availability is limited by an organizer cutoff of November 1; some entries do not include a free shirt and shirts can be purchased for an additional $10.
Packet pickup is offered on dates before the event at Derry Sports and Rehab and at Galliens Beach, and race day packet pickup is available. For parking, spaces are provided at Pinkerton Academy with continuous bus transportation to the race site, and parking on Route 102 is not permitted.
Organizers request a donation of nonperishable food for local food pantries from all entries; a small cash donation is accepted if a physical donation is forgotten. Post-race beverages and some food will be available. Awards are given to the top three male and top three female finishers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
