GDTC Turkey Trot - Derry
The GDTC Turkey Trot is a USATF certified 5k held on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2026, at Gallien's Town Beach on Beaver Lake in Derry, New Hampshire. The course (USATF #NH9306WN) runs clockwise around the residential roads of Beaver Lake and includes several scenic vistas; the route has previously been noted for its appearance with fresh snow.
Entry options include in-person and virtual participation. Adult (14 and over) advanced registration is $30 and includes a T-shirt if registered by 11/1; adult virtual registration is $10 and race day registration is $35. Kids (13 and under) advanced registration is $10, virtual registration is $10, and race day registration is $15. T-shirts are included only with advanced adult registration by 11/1; other participants may purchase shirts for $10 through 11/1. Shirt sizes available are adult XS to 3XL.
Food donations are requested for all entries; non-perishable canned goods or dry food items will be collected for local food pantries. If a donation is forgotten, a small cash donation is requested.
Bib pickup is offered at Derry Sports & Rehab (23A Crystal Ave) on Sunday, November 22, and at Gallien's Beach (39 Pond Rd) on the day before and the morning of the race. Parking on Pond Rd and along the south side of Route 102 is discouraged; a parking area at Pinkerton Academy is used with shuttle service to the start/finish. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers overall. If the event is cancelled due to weather, there are no refunds and later T-shirt pickup is the entrant's responsibility.
