The Cambus Quarter
The Cambus Quarter is a 6.5-mile / 10.5 km quarter marathon held on 16 August 2026. The course is flat and mixed-terrain, combining trail, tarmac, and road sections. Road shoes are generally acceptable in most conditions, though trail shoes may be preferable if the course is particularly wet.
The route starts in Cambus village with an anti-clockwise loop along the banks of the River Forth and trails through surrounding farmland before returning on a tarmac path through the village. A water station with cups is provided at this point. Runners then complete a clockwise loop passing Cambus Pools Nature Reserve, through Blackgrange, past Diageo, over a railway level crossing, and back via the old A907 and the Cambus Cycle Path.
The course remains open to traffic and the public throughout the event. Marshals will be positioned at major road crossings and the railway level crossing; runners must follow marshal instructions. As an open course, runners do not have right of way and should be courteous to other users. Littering on the course is not permitted.
The event is held under UK Athletics rules with a scottishathletics licence. Strictly no dogs are allowed. Entry closes on 13 August 2026 and the field is limited to 200 runners. Registration and race-number collection must be completed on the morning of the race. Parking is available adjacent to registration at Cambus Bowling Club. First aid and refreshments will be available. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
