Event Overview
The Lochore Off Road Triathlon Festival is a multi-sport event held at Lochore Meadows Country Park. The 2026 edition is the seventh installment of the event. It is a Triathlon Scotland sanctioned event, with the full-distance triathlon counting towards the Off Road Triathlon Scotland event rankings.
Event Format
The festival offers several race formats:
- Full distance triathlon: 1 km swim, 13 km bike, 5 km run.
- Short distance triathlon: 500 m swim, 7 km bike, 3 km run.
- Aquabike (swim-bike).
- Duathlon (run-bike-run).
- Aquathlon (swim-run).
Course Details
The swim for the full distance and Aquabike is a 1 km swim in Loch Ore. It consists of two 500 m laps with an Australian-style beach exit between laps.
The off-road bike course is 14.4 km and covers mixed terrain, passing through White Woods, Chapel Chase, Quarry Wood, and Lindsay’s Loop. The course includes some small technical sections with rocks, roots, and mud. The full distance and Aquabike complete three laps, the short distance completes two laps, and a Tristars category completes one lap.
The run course for the full distance and Aquathlon is a mixed-terrain 5 km route. It goes around the hilly Clune and an old Iron Age fort before finishing by the lochside. The short distance run is 3 km and a Tristars run is 2.4 km.
