The Inflatable 5K in Edinburgh is an inflatable obstacle course event with giant obstacles, slides and tunnels. The event is non timed and features music zones along the route. Participants can complete laps at their own pace by running, jogging or walking.
The course is a 2.5 km lap. Distances available are:
- 2.5 km
- 5 km
- 10 km
- 15 km
Each lap repeats the same inflatables. The 2.5 km lap contains 15 obstacles; the 5 km option comprises 2 laps and 30 obstacles (including three new obstacles added for this edition); the 10 km and 15 km options repeat laps for 60 and 90 obstacles respectively. Five music zones are mentioned as part of the course.
Included for participants are a finisher's medal, a goodie bag, a refreshment at the finish, event photography and medical cover. The event provides a free spectator area, a clearly marked route, on-course hydration midway along the route and toilets at the venue. Food and drink vendors are available on site.
Practical details from the organiser include a £5 parking charge per car, a £3 bag drop fee with size limits and security searches, and a requirement that children aged 5 to 15 run with a participating adult at a maximum ratio of three children per adult.
