Simon Wake Comrie Hills Relay
The Simon Wake Comrie Hills Relay is a 43 km relay race with 1,733 m of ascent run in four stages, starting and finishing in Comrie. The route runs up and around the hills on either side of Glen Lednock and has a mix of marked trail sections and unmarked mountain terrain. It has been selected as the Scottish Hill Runners relay championships for 2026.
Teams consist of five runners: single runners on three legs and a pair on the second leg. Distances and ascent by leg are:
- Leg 1: 11.2 km, 386 m ascent - route marked. Single runner.
- Leg 2: 6.9 km, 426 m ascent - unmarked. Paired runners.
- Leg 3: 13.6 km, 666 m ascent - mostly unmarked. Single runner.
- Leg 4: 11.5 km, 253 m ascent - partially marked. Single runner.
Entries open 20 July 2026 and close 23 August 2026. Entry fee is £65 per team of five and includes post race refreshments. Entry is limited to 50 teams with an initial club entry limit of four teams until 31 July.
Electronic timing uses a shared SportIdent dibber issued at registration; a £35 charge applies for non returned dibbers. Legs 2 and 3 require mandatory safety kit including map, compass, whistle, waterproof jacket and trousers, hat and gloves. Parking is restricted to Laggan Park and Invergeldie and a minibus shuttle will run between handover points during the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
