Simon Wake Comrie Hills Relay
The Simon Wake Comrie Hills Relay is a four-stage team relay run that starts and finishes in Comrie village. The course covers 43 km with 1,733 m of ascent and follows routes up and around the hills on either side of Glen Lednock. The relay is organised in legs that vary in character: Legs 2 and 3 traverse rough mountain terrain, while Legs 1 and 4 are closer to trail running. Leg 1 is fully waymarked and Leg 4 is partially waymarked. A short section of Leg 3 across a featureless moor prior to CP6 will be marked to reduce the risk of lost runners.
The 2026 race returns to a five-person team format in which a pair of runners complete Leg 2 together. The 2026 race is scheduled for Saturday 29 August. Prizes are awarded to winning teams in open and women categories, the first mixed team, first veteran categories, and individual leg winners in open and female classes.
A raffle will be run on race day with tickets priced at £1 to raise additional funds. From 2025, surplus proceeds from the race are allocated to support junior hill running in Scotland and to assist Strathearn Harriers' junior section, split equally between those purposes. The organisers acknowledge support from sponsors Meadow Garage and Comrie Croft and thank landowners in Glenlednock for permission to use their land.
