Event Overview
The Run for Donuts takes place in Phoenix at G.R. Herberger Park, located on East Indian School Road. This event is organized as a small, private group run with a cap on the number of participants per wave to maintain a supportive environment. The gathering welcomes participants of all ages and paces, including both runners and walkers. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a guardian.
The event follows a simple format without complex equipment or external setups. On-site coordinators are available to support participants during the activity. While the atmosphere is non-competitive, timing is available as an optional feature. There are no timing chips; instead, runners can track their own progress using various mobile apps or request assistance from the coordinators to record their results for the online leaderboard.
Participants can choose from several distances:
- 1 Mile Family Fun Run
- 5 km
- 10 km
- 13.1 mile (Half-Marathon)
Swag and Participation
The registration includes a swag bag that is shipped directly to the participant's US address, eliminating the need for a traditional packet pickup. This package typically contains a running t-shirt, a finisher's towel or similar giveaway, a medal, and a digital training pack. Race bibs are provided on the day of the event.
For those unable to attend the physical location, a virtual run option is available. This allows participants to complete their chosen distance at any time or place. Virtual runners receive the same digital tools and can submit their results to receive their finisher's medal by mail. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
