Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk - Tempe, AZ
The Tunnel to Towers 5K in Tempe is a community 5K run and walk held on September 13, 2026 at 80 W. Rio Salado Parkway, Tempe, AZ 85281. The event was created to honor a New York City firefighter who lost his life on September 11, 2001 and to support first responders and military personnel. The distance is 5K (3.1 miles) and the event is now a timed race.
Registration categories include adult, first responders and military, youth (13 to 17), child (12 and under), Army and ROTC, and a company category for JPMorganChase employees. Listed fees include $25 for adult registration, $20 for first responders and military, $10 for youth 13 to 17, $5 for children 12 and under, a waived fee for Army and ROTC registrations which do not include a T shirt, and $25 for JPMorganChase employees. Registration is final and refunds are not available. Day of event registration incurs an additional $5 charge. A guaranteed event T shirt requires registration at least six weeks before the event. Registration fees do not count toward fundraising goals.
Logistics note packet pick up is scheduled for Thursday September 10 at Road Runner Sports, 43 S. McClintock Drive, Tempe, AZ 85288, with day of event packet pick up available. Parking is available at 201 S. Ash Avenue, Tempe, AZ 85281. Participants receive a race shirt and bib. Water stations are available on course and at the finish. An Emergency Medical Service team will be on site and radio communication will be used on course. Strollers, wheelchairs, firefighter turnout gear, military backpacks, and leashed dogs are permitted. Headphones are allowed at the participant's own risk. Donations are accepted for six weeks after the event and transfers of registration are permitted.
