Run for Mental Health - Sacramento
This event takes place at Sutter's Landing Regional Park in Sacramento, California. It is organized as a small, private group run with a limited number of participants per wave to ensure a low-stress environment. The event supports mental health awareness and is open to participants of all ages and all paces, including both runners and walkers.
Participants can choose from several distance options:
- 1 Mile Family Fun Run
- 5 km
- 10 km
- 13.1 miles (Half-Marathon)
The run does not use timing chips, though timing is optional. Participants may track their own progress using various mobile applications or request assistance from coordinators to record their times for online posting. A virtual run option is also available for those who prefer to complete the distance at a time and location of their choosing.
Registration includes a swag bag containing a running t-shirt, a finisher's medal, and a finisher's towel or other giveaway item. Instead of a traditional packet pickup, shirts are shipped directly to the participant's registered US address, while race bibs are provided on the day of the event. A moisture-wicking technical shirt is available as an optional upgrade.
The event follows a wave start format to manage the group size. Each participant receives a digital training pack upon registration. Additionally, the organizers manage a charity initiative where further donations are made to partner organizations based on miles logged by participants after the event.
