Davis Turkey Trot

Event Overview

The Davis Turkey Trot is a running event held in Davis, California. It takes place at Civic Center Field.

The event features several race distances:

Kids Fun Runs include a 1/2 mile, a 1/4 mile, and a 200-yard dash.

Registration and Entry

Registration is handled online, with entry fees based on the date of entry, the chosen distance, and age. Youth discounts are available for the 5K and 10K. Registration for the 2026 event will open in mid-summer 2026. Cash payments are accepted only at packet pickup or on race day.

All entries include a finisher medal. For the 2 Mile, 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon distances, entry also includes a long-sleeve DryBlend t-shirt. Kids Fun Run entries include a short-sleeve cotton t-shirt.

Race Details

The event has staggered start times for different distances. All races are timed except for the Kids Fun Runs. Pace groups will be available for the Half Marathon. A 4-hour course cutoff time is in place for the Half Marathon.

Well-behaved dogs on non-retractable leashes and strollers are permitted on the course, but must start at the back. A sweat check service is available on race day. Toilets are available along the course for the longer distances.

Awards

Overall awards are given to the top three finishers per gender, based on gun time. Age group awards are given to the top three finishers per gender in each division, based on net time. There are also special participant divisions for categories such as Adaptive Athlete, Cancer Survivor, Stroller, Teacher, and UC Davis affiliates. A special division for dogs is offered for the 2 Mile race.

Logistics

Packet pickup is available the day before the race at the Veterans Memorial Center and on race day at Civic Center Field beginning at 6:30 a.m. Participants are advised to arrive at least one hour before their race start time. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
