American River Parkway 20-mile Point-to-Point Marathon Training Run & Taper Program
This event is presented as the 21st Annual American River Parkway Point-to-Point Marathon Training Run and is part of Sacfit's Marathon Taper Program and Full Marathon Training Program. Sacfit has offered marathon training programs since 2006.
The workout is a fully supported point-to-point long run on the American River Parkway with several distance options:
- 21 miles
- 20 miles
- 18.5 miles
- 16 miles
- 13.1 miles
Amenities include free bus transport to the various point-to-point start locations, multiple aid stations stocked with ice-chilled water, Gatorade, and additional options for warm or cold conditions, and first-aid kits at every station. Participants receive a mile-by-mile pace bracelet tailored for the CIM or Honolulu Marathon and access to the Sacfit VIP Indoor Lounge with indoor flush restrooms at the CIM race-day start line.
The program includes a 4-week weekend taper schedule, mid-week track and tempo workouts, coach-led pace groups, supervised strength and stretching sessions including yoga, and the expectation of group training throughout the long workouts.
