The Great Gobble Run
The Great Gobble Run is a community charity 5K organized by the Rio Linda Elverta Chamber Of Commerce to benefit the Rio Linda/Elverta Food Closet. The event is held in Rio Linda, California at 810 Oak Lane and takes place on the third Saturday of November; in 2026 the date is Saturday, November 21.
This is an in-person, all-ages event with free parking and a stated no refunds policy. Participants must complete a waiver and release form; a parent or guardian must complete the form for anyone under 18. Children under 12 enter free when a parent or guardian registers and must remain with that registered adult for the entire course. Strollers are welcome and recommended for younger children who may not complete the full 5K independently. For safety, walkers and participants using strollers must start at the back of the starting group.
Pets are prohibited. Dogs are not allowed in the start, pre-race, or post-race areas; anyone with a dog in those areas will be asked to remove the dog or to refrain from participating. Registration categories listed by the organizer include regular registration for ages 13 and up with parent or guardian signature requirements for minors.
