Barnyard Backyard Ultra
The Barnyard Backyard Ultra is a backyard ultra-format running event at Luvin Arms Animal Sanctuary in Erie, Colorado, held October 24–25, 2026. The format requires runners to complete a repeated loop of 4.167 miles (6.7056 kilometers) each hour; the event continues until a single runner completes the most loops.
The course is mostly flat with under 200 feet of elevation gain per lap. Terrain is off-road cross-country consisting of dirt, grass, and gravel. Trail running shoes are recommended. One central aid station near the race hub will supply basics such as fruit, bread with peanut butter, pretzels, ice water, and Neversecond C30 sports drink. This is a cupless event; runners must bring their own hydration gear.
Runners may set up personal camps in designated 10x10 spaces; crews may support athletes only within the race camp and hub areas. Pacers are not permitted. Tents must be anchored with weights rather than stakes. Participants must cross the start/finish line to record each lap.
Awards include a medal for participants who reach 100 miles or 24 hours and a special buckle for the last runner to complete a yard. Other participants are recorded as DNF in winner classification. Registrations are nonrefundable; race credit options are provided based on withdrawal timing and deferral options exist for pregnancy.
