Stocking Run 5K - Superior
The Stocking Run is a community 5K held in Downtown Superior, Colorado on December 12, 2026. The event moved to a new Main Street venue in 2024. The course follows a mix of paved roads and multiuse paths through parks and neighborhoods, with course marshals at intersections and a water station near the halfway mark. Organizers describe the route as fast with about 100 feet of elevation gain spread over the 3.1 mile distance.
Packet pickup is available the day before at the Superior Community Center and on race day. Many downtown roads will be closed for the Superior Winter Festival and several parking lots are reserved for residents; runners must use one of two designated parking garages a short walk from the start and finish area. The race also serves as the opening event for the Superior Winter Festival, which includes booths and family activities throughout the day.
This race is the first event in the Racing Underground Winter Running Series. The series includes the Stocking Run 5K, the Yeti Chase 5K/10K, and the Ralston Creek Half Marathon and 5K; series finisher and overall awards are presented for those who complete the series.
Registration packages include a festive race shirt, hot cocoa, live online results, printed receipt, postrace baked goods, free race photos, a finish-line video, and a printable finisher certificate. Entry fees increase closer to race day; youth 12 and under have a reduced preregistration rate. Refund and cancellation rules allow a 75% credit until 30 days before the race, transfers until 15 days before the race, and a virtual-entry conversion with a ten dollar credit if the in-person event is cancelled.
