The Amazing Northampton Run
The Amazing Northampton Run takes place in Northampton, featuring a course that begins and finishes in the town centre. The event offers multiple participation options including an individual race, a team effort, and a shorter distance run.
The following distances are available:
- 13.1 miles (Half Marathon)
- 13.1 miles (Half Marathon Relay)
- 3 miles (Fun Run)
The 13.1 mile route forms a loop around the town. Participants run through the historic Market Square, descend over South Bridge, and follow the river. The course passes significant landmarks including the Sixfields football stadium, Franklin’s Gardens rugby ground, and The County Ground for cricket. Runners also pass through three parks and the modern University campus before returning to the town centre.
For those choosing the 13.1 miles relay, the total distance is divided into three separate legs, allowing teams of friends or colleagues to complete the course together. The 3 miles Fun Run provides a shorter alternative for those who prefer a less technical distance.
Support on the course includes four aid stations located at approximately 3-mile intervals. Mile markers are displayed throughout the route to track progress. Pacers are available for the half marathon to assist runners in reaching specific time goals, ranging from 1:30 to 3:00 hours. A secure bag drop is located at the start and finish area. All finishers in the half marathon and relay receive a t-shirt and a medal, while participants in the shorter run receive a medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
