Thanksgiving Day 5K Run & Family Stroll
The Thanksgiving Day 5K Run & Family Stroll is the 36th annual event presented by T‑Mobile. It takes place at the Aspiria Campus in Overland Park, Kansas on Thursday, November 26, 2026. The event brings together families and their furry friends for a community run and stroll.
Proceeds from the event benefit the Kansas City Sports Commission & Foundation and WIN for KC. One hundred percent of proceeds fund the organizations' mission of supporting Kansas City through sports, including efforts to attract major events such as the 2023 NFL Draft and the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The main program includes a 5K run and a family stroll, with a children’s Fun Run held after the 5K finish. Participant amenities include a comfortable race‑branded apparel item, freshly baked doughnuts from Krispy Kreme, free coffee and hot cocoa from Parisi Coffee, and for participants 21 and older a choice of a Yuengling Flight or Downeast Blackberry Cider provided by Central States.
The Kansas City Sports Commission also partners with Operation Breakthrough for charitable support. Operation Breakthrough’s work focuses on children and families in poverty through education, health services, parenting classes, and basic needs assistance. Item donations are collected at packet pick up and on event day; requested items include food, hygiene products, children’s books, and gently used children’s clothing.
